1.) NORA Research Task 3 Coordinator (RT3)

Job Summary:

IHVN seeks a highly competent and motivated Coordinator for Research Task 3 (RT3) within the NORA initiative. RT3 focuses on investigating cervical cancer, particularly identifying barriers within the primary health system that affect cervical cancer screening and treatment uptake. The Coordinator will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless and efficient execution of this task in conjunction with the entire project.

Responsibilities:

1. Facilitate the application and acquisition of ethical approval.
2. Coordinate and organize meetings for the Nigeria RT3 team.
3. Participate in meetings with RT3 teams from other partner countries and record actionable points.
4. Supervise personnel training in alignment with the study plan/protocol, ensuring adherence to guidelines.
5. Collaborate with stakeholders and community advisory boards to co-create effective intervention strategies and generate positive outcomes based on their advice.
6. Organize personnel training on the study protocol, community health worker training, and BRIDGE App usage, where necessary.
7. Recruit interviewers for Interviews and Focus Group Discussions.
8. Coordinate protocol training and invitation of participants.
9. Prepare comprehensive reports and recommendations based on findings, to be shared with stakeholders or disseminated as required by the project.

Educational Qualifications:

1. A Bachelor’s Degree in Health-related Sciences.
2. A Master’s Degree in Health Care, Health Sciences, or other relevant Public Health/Science disciplines.

Experience, Skills, and Competencies:

1. Minimum of 3 years of post-NYSC relevant work experience.
2. Proficient in English (both written and spoken).
3. Advanced computer skills with expertise in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
4. Capable of working independently and delivering quality work within deadlines.

3.) NORA Research Task 1 Coordinator (RT1)

Job Summary:

Research Task 1 within NORA aims to strengthen cancer surveillance in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) and improve the quality and completeness of data by updating records on date of diagnosis, stage at diagnosis, treatment received, date, and vital status at the last contact. The Research Task Coordinator plays a pivotal role in ensuring smooth and cohesive execution of this task within the entire project.

 

Responsibilities:

1. Facilitate the application and acquisition of ethical approval.
2. Coordinate and organize meetings for the Nigeria RT1 team to provide updates, reports, and strategize when necessary.
3. Participate in meetings with RT1 teams from other partner countries and record actionable points.
4. Oversee the enrollment of cancer registrars for the cancer registrars training.
5. Maintain correspondence with cancer registry directors and cancer registrars to be trained.
6. Supervise the preparation of training materials for the training of cancer registrars.
7. Provide administrative support to Post Doc and master’s students involved in RT1.
8. Coordinate the dissemination of findings from RT1.

4.) State Clinical Mentor

Job Title: State Clinical Mentor

Description and Objectives:

As the State Clinical Mentor under the supervision of the Director of Public Health, you will play a crucial role in providing mentorship to healthcare workers in designated facilities. Your primary objective is to enhance the capacity of frontline healthcare workers in delivering high-quality HIV clinical services within public and private facilities as well as communities. This role requires familiarity with the state’s healthcare landscape and a commitment to improving HIV care.

 

Responsibilities:

1. Conduct on-site clinical training for healthcare workers on HIV treatment, encompassing national guidelines for adult and pediatric ART, tuberculosis, and other opportunistic diseases.
2. Offer clinical consultation and assist local healthcare workers in identifying and overcoming barriers that hinder patients’ access to antiretroviral therapy (ART), providing direct patient care support when necessary.
3. Provide continuous medical education (CME) sessions, including didactic training for health professionals, adhering to national guidelines.
4. Facilitate health worker capacity-building sessions using diverse methodologies, including project ECHO and low bandwidth video conferencing.
5. Support and participate in weekly ECHO videoconferencing sessions with health workers from various sites in the state as requested.
6. Collaborate with the Ministry of Health and other stakeholders to develop standard operating procedures for HIV clinical care at health facilities, addressing patient flow, default tracking, and referral pathways through appropriate algorithms.
7. Submit monthly reports on training and technical assistance activities, including findings and recommendations to enhance health facility services and ensure compliance with national treatment guidelines.
8. Undertake additional duties related to clinical mentoring as assigned.

 

Education and Experience:

 

Academic Training:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Sciences (MBBS or equivalent).
• Postgraduate qualification/Masters level training in Public Health, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, or Obstetrics is advantageous.
• Must be registered with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria with a valid practicing license.

 

Experience:

• 3-5 years of experience in clinical HIV and AIDS care, including antiretroviral therapy (ART) provision.
• Minimum of two years’ experience in program planning, assessment, and implementation of HIV clinical care programs.
• Experience in providing HIV clinical training.
• Previous involvement in HIV-related operational research is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of current trends and normative guidance in HIV clinical care and service delivery, nationally and internationally.
• Experience in coordinating multidisciplinary HIV clinical teams for effective service delivery.
• Willingness to travel to clinics and hospitals within the assigned state.

5.) Program Manager – Community Based Activities

Job Description:

As the Program Manager for Community Based Activities, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality malaria prevention and control services under the supervision of the Project Director for the Malaria Impact Project. You will work closely with the National Malaria Elimination Program (NMEP) and other stakeholders, leading the day-to-day implementation of malaria prevention and control strategies at health facilities while adhering to National Treatment Guidelines and policies.

 

Responsibilities:

1. Provide technical assistance for delivering community-based malaria interventions and social and behavioral change communication strategies to strengthen malaria prevention and control activities.
2. Offer technical support, including capacity building, to State and National Malaria Elimination Program staff and existing Project personnel to improve malaria prevention and control services.
3. Collaborate with NMEP, SMEP, and other stakeholders to assess capacity-building needs for implementing community-based malaria prevention and control interventions and identify suitable opportunities to deploy appropriate resources to meet these needs.
4. Work closely with FMOH, SMOH, LMCU, NMEP, SMEP, and other stakeholders to identify technical assistance requirements for achieving the expected outcomes of the Malaria Impact Grant Project.
5. Provide performance/progress reports and updates to the Project Leadership.
6. Represent IHVN and present reports to relevant stakeholders through meetings and conferences.
7. Develop monthly activity plans for community-based malaria interventions.
8. Handle any other assigned responsibilities.

 

Education and Experience:

• Master’s level/Postgraduate qualification in Public Health, Epidemiology, Medicine, Parasitology, or Nursing.

 

Experience:

• At least 7 years of experience working with National Malaria programs at various levels in planning and managing projects.
• At least 5 years of experience in implementing community-based malaria prevention and control interventions.
• Experience in capacity building at individual and organizational levels.
