The Edo State Government, under the Ministry of Physical Planning, Housing, Urban and Regional Development, invites applications from eligible candidates for its Clean and Green Program, which aims to foster a sustainable and eco-friendly environment.

6. Engineering Trainee (Civil, Structural, Mechanical, and Electrical)

Responsibilities:

• Create and maintain GIS databases, utilizing GIS software to analyze spatial and non-spatial information.
• Work with diverse datasets in GIS databases, including text or spreadsheet files with coordinates, tabular data, and imagery.
• Digitize paper maps or map images.
• Analyze GIS data to identify spatial relationships and visually represent analysis outcomes.
• Review GIS data for accuracy and currency.
• Document GIS data parameters and context.
• Perform geospatial modeling and spatial analysis.
• Create thematic maps for environmental and educational purposes.
• Utilize GIS software for data analysis and map creation.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree (Second Class Lower) or HND (Lower Credit) in any relevant field.
• Prior experience in obtaining and applying GPS data with ArcGIS is advantageous.
• Possession of NYSC Discharge or Exemption Certificate.
• Proficiency in computer usage, strong interpersonal and leadership skills, and the ability to work effectively in teams.
• Applicants should be within the ages of 22-30.
• Familiarity with CAD&GIS Tools is a plus.
