xAI is led by Elon Musk, renowned as the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX. Our team comprises experts who have previously contributed their expertise to DeepMind, OpenAI, Google Research, Microsoft Research, Tesla, and the University of Toronto. Collectively, we have made significant contributions to the field, including the development of widely-used techniques such as the Adam optimizer, Batch Normalization, Layer Normalization, and the discovery of adversarial examples. Additionally, we have introduced innovative methodologies and analyses like Transformer-XL, Autoformalization, the Memorizing Transformer, Batch Size Scaling, and μTransfer. Our team has played pivotal roles in the creation of groundbreaking advancements such as AlphaStar, AlphaCode, Inception, Minerva, GPT-3.5, and GPT-4.
