A 300-level student of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Ilorin, Abdulhakeem Azeez, has won the MSD Animal Health/World Veterinary Association 2020 Veterinary Student Scholarship Award.

Azeez is the only Nigerian who won the award among the 41 winners world-wide. A statement made available to Unilorin Bulletin by the Head of the Department of Veterinary Public Health and Preventive Medicine, Dr Ismail Odetokun, indicated that the award is a programme designed to aid students in their scholastic development and enable them to continue their education by offering direct financial support and in recognition of their academic achievements and to aid in the development of their academic and veterinary career.

“This year, 41 veterinary students were selected from nearly 30 different countries to receive a scholarship of 5,000 US Dollars in recognition of their academic achievements and to aid in the development of their academic and veterinary career”, a statement published on www.worldvet.org reads.
